During the Derrick Days festivities on Saturday, April 28th, do not miss Mark Pyle as he presents his extensive herpetological knowledge in the Pocket Park on North Beaton Street. Mark Pyle is the President of the Dallas Forth Worth Herpetological Society. He has been providing educational presentation, displays and other types of training of reptiles and amphibians for over twenty years. He is also the creator of the Facebook group What Kind of Snake is This, North Texas.
The DFWHS will be displaying a collection of snakes that can be found in North Texas including all of the venomous species from the area. Lots of other educational items will be on display as well. Some of the tame non-venomous snakes may be out for you to touch, if you are brave enough.
Visit Mark’s WEBSITE meant to help with identifying snakes of North Texas and provide the education needed to preserve this important piece of Texas ecology.
