It’s April and that means that it is time for Derrick Days in Corsicana celebrating our rich oil history. Derrick Days is an established Corsicana tradition that started back in 1976 and continues to be Corsicana’s biggest annual festival.
Wednesday, April 24th will kick off the festivities with the Free Hotdog Lunch at 11am-1pm at the original Pocket Park on Beaton Street.
Thursday, April 25th enjoy the Sip n Stroll at participating downtown businesses, and the Navarro College Jazz Band in the patio area at K&K BBQ on Beaton Street.
Friday night get ready to dance and sing along with Super Kilo at the Derrick Days Main Stage for the Block Party. Food trucks will be on hand starting at 6pm and the band will take the stage at 7pm.
Saturday, April 27th is the MAIN EVENT with 100 vendors, 30 food trucks, a world class car show, the carnival, the cook-off with 100 teams competing for CASI chili points, and in beans and brisket.
You will also find the Oil Town Minithon Run, free oil history tours, free kids activities including a FOAM PARTY sponsored by the City of Corsicana in the main pocket park, Cornhole and 42 tournaments, and live music all day at the Main Stage featuring Raquel Lindeman, Eric George, the Frank Kent 106.9 The Ranch Battle of the Bands at Derrick Days from noon to 3pm, and Jason Statham rounding out the fun before the cook-off awards.
